What is new?

  • Auto/Mate has implemented a new user login process based on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • MFA is the second factor of authentication that is combined with the single-factor authentication (SFA) login process that is in place today.

 What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

  • MFA is the process of performing additional authentication of users during the login process.
  • The authentication it implements will be based on one of the two methods of user authentication:
  • You will have to use at least one of the two authentication methods above.
    • Cell phone text message (SMS)
    • Cell phone authentication app
  • You will have to use at least one of the two authentication methods above.

Why is Auto/Mate Implementing this process?

  • MFA-based login is being implemented to comply with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which defines the legal framework for protecting Non-public Personal Information (NPI)
  • The new way of logging in will further strengthen the protections of sensitive customer data Auto/Mate already has in place.

What happens if a user does not have an email address in their user account?

  • After entering the username and password in the regular login screen, the user will see the window with the following message: "Email is missing, please contact your admin to verify.". If this message is encountered, the user will not be able to log in and will have to contact their user admin and provide them with a valid email to input into their user profile in System Utilities.
